1) Concept:

The UCSUR International Theater Festival for Cultural Diversity, organized by Universidad Científica del Sur in Lima, is the event that unites plays and artists from different parts of the world as an incomparable occasion to highlight the value of cultural diversity, in addition to collate different scenic poetics, ideologies, plastic conceptions, techniques and sensitivities in the same space of creative coexistence.

In its fourth version also, as in the majority of its previous shows, the performances will be FREE OF CHARGE and decentralized, directed to popular and juvenile spaces.

The UCSUR Festival tries to prioritize works that propose risks and explore innovative options for the dramatic composition and investigate interdisciplinary languages for the stage.

2) Components:

This 4th Festival will have 4 basic components:

• International Theater Festival: with the participation of foreign and national plays of different origin.
• University Theater Display: a component of the plays of the Festival will be the university theatre, with works from inside and outside the country, made by young people.
• Critique table: the works of the Festival will be analysed and commented on by a series of national specialists and foreigners, in dialogue with the artists of performances. Each critic will draft his final reflection about the works and about the Festival. The material will be edited with the graphic memory of the Festival and distributed in all countries represented by the participants. It will include the Directory of groups to ensure the relationship and promote cooperation between them.
• Workshops and master clases: among the participant specialists and theater professionals, those will be selected who can deliver workshops and master classes in Direction, Production, Critique, Performance and other skills of the profession.

3) Objectives:

• Develop awareness of the value of Intangible Cultural Heritage through the arts, showing works of different cultures.
• Generating a space of cultural exchange in festive character and harmony between artists and intellectuals of various nationalities as a signal to society.
• Sensitize in a playful way about the inclusion and respect for cultural diversity.
• Broadcast contemporary dramaturgy (of authors and collective creation).
• Privilege creative practice and consumption of art and cultural expressions as healthy actions, articulators of society.
• Provide our community with a theatrical showcase of high quality.
• Register multicultural scenic expressions and reflect on them.
• Generating welfare and development through a concert of exceptional works of various cultural horizons.
